Farali Thalipeeth Recipe – How to make delicious Farali Thalipeeth at your home

Ingredients

  • Sago / sabudana ( 1 cup)
  • Fasting rice/ bhagar (1/2 cup)
  • Roasted peanuts ( 1/2 cup)
  • Green chillies (2 to 3 pieces)
  • Ginger (1/2 inch piece)
  • Salt (as per taste)
  • Cumin seeds/ jeera ( 2 teaspoons)
  • Coriander leaves (few branches)
  • Red chilli powder (2 to 3 teaspoons) (optional)
  • Water ( as required)
  • Oil (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Take sabudana/sago, roasted peanuts, bhagar and cumin seeds in mixer jar and make fine powder.
  2. Make paste of ginger and green chillies. Finely chop coriander leaves.
  3. Take prepared sago and bhagar powder and add ginger and chilli paste.
  4. Add red chilli powder, salt and chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  5. Add water and make soft dough, rest dough for at least five minutes.
  6. After resting, add more water as sago absorbs water add 2 teaspoons oil and knead soft dough.
  7. Make 3 equal balls from dough.
  8. Heat nonstick pan and grease with 1 teaspoon oil.
  9. Put dough ball on pan, and apply little water on your hand and by tapping softly make 4 to 5 diameter circle.
  10. Apply oil on the other side and carefully turn as other side becomes crispy and golden brown in colour.
  11. Cook both sides till they become crispy and golden brown in colour.
  12. Farali Thalipeeth is ready.
